Since I have given the Cyber Phantom a powers unknown to his universe, he would have been a Gary Stue of a character, which is not what I was aiming for. It made sense for me to write him from the perspective of the main characters, Paul Strongarm and Harix. While they are a buddy cop duo, in a sense, they are not the kind usually shown in Hollywood.

Starting with Paul Strongarm, he would be in the role of the serious “by the book cop,” or the rookie cop. However, I have written Paul as a cop who has to maintain justice in a city of alien citizens who hate human policemen. He tries to do his job, even though people hate him for it. Just think of it as parents who has to discipline, their child even they will be the bad guy in their eyes. That can frustrate the parents and they can struggle how to deal with the reality. Or in case of this book, policemen have to arrest someone for breaking a law that could lead to chaos if not punished, even if it means getting aggressive when the criminals resist arrest. The amount of hate a policeman gets for his job, but he has do it anyway. This is what I was aiming for Paul as he would eventually come to face of justice later in the book. In a way, he is a ‘by the book’ cop, but is a rookie on how to respond to alien citizens.

As for Harix, he is a mix between a fox and a rabbit, called a Frabbit. He would fall into the character that is either reckless or just straight out annoy his partner. In this book, that is not the case. In the second chapter of the book, I have made clear that Paul does not hate Harix in the slightest, but more or less just not sure how to treat alien, let alone a Frabbit. Throughout the book, Harix acts as a guide and mentor to Paul, just as there are guides for culture shock. I have written him as someone who is crazy (but not to crazy), but knows how to do his job, patience, and has a lot of wisdom for Paul in the police force.

The goal of the duo is not to learn work together, but rather to learn about the true face of justice and how they can bring upon the people they serve. And it’s not just the two against the entire city, they have allies that aid them, who I will soon go over. But for now, let me know what you think of these character description, if there is more you would like to know about them, let me know in the comments below.
